Other support services and treatments that have been helpful to many people include:<br \/>\n\u2022\tmotivation and behavior modification courses<br \/>\n\u2022\tgroup therapy<br \/>\n\u2022\tnutrition counseling.<br \/>\nHow can I take care of myself?<br \/>\nFollow the treatment plan prescribed by your health care provider. In addition:<br \/>\n\u2022\tStop smoking.<br \/>\n\u2022\tEat healthy, well-balanced meals that reduce your calorie intake enough for you to lose 1 to 2 pounds a week to reach and maintain normal weight.<br \/>\n\u2022\tReduce the salt, fat, cholesterol, and caffeine in your diet.<br \/>\n\u2022\tLearn to use deep breathing and relaxation techniques to reduce stress.<br \/>\n\u2022\tExercise regularly, according to your health care provider&#8217;s instructions.<br \/>\n\u2022\tSee your provider regularly to have your blood pressure checked.
